Roustabout

A Roustabout is an entry-level offshore worker who supports general operations on oil rigs, drillships, or production platforms. The role involves manual labor, maintenance, and assisting skilled crews (including crane operators, riggers, and drill teams).
Roustabouts are often the starting point for careers in offshore roles like crane operations.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with loading and unloading cargo from supply vessels
Support crane operations (acting as helper, signaler, or deck crew)
Handle and maintain tools, pipes, and equipment
Perform cleaning and maintenance of decks and work areas
Help with rigging and securing loads
Follow instructions from supervisors and senior crew
Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures
